Rating: 99% - Submitted by Tim Bucknall on 2002.06.06 06:23:30 PM this is one of my favourite Bootlegs ever mainly due to the 11 demo tracks on this disc these are the best versions of these reciprocal demos that have ever been commercially released they are all crisp and "on-speed" and sound so "alive" compared to other releases also the between song noises have been left intact which adds to the authenticity i only deducted a point because aerozeppelin was tacked on after the end rather than put on the beginning before "beeswax" as it appeared on the demo tape from which this release was sourced , i don't know why they went to the trouble of chopping aerozeppelin off the start and putting it on the end but that is a minor quibble the first 11 tracks on the bleach sessions lp are taken from this cd the concert is cool also but for me the demos elevate this cd to "classic status" it's a shame "pop bus" didn't put out any other Nirvana cd's the demo tape from which this cd was sourced contained 8 of the 10 demos from 23.1.88 (all except if you must & hairspray queen) and some material from 11/6/88(blandest) & 24/12/88 (sifting jam, MR moustache) to get the remaining 2 tracks from 23.1.88 i reccommend "grunge is dead" which has the best versions i've heard and to get the remaining tracks from 11/6/88 it's got to be "grunge is dead" and for the remaining track from 24/12/88 (Blew) get Outcesticide 4 or "bleach sessions" (the version on "Grunge is dead" is at the wrong speed) |

This is one of the best bootlegs I've ever come over. The sound quality isn't the best, but it is better than good enough. This is the best bootleg containing Bleach-era songs live, in my opinion. If I was to give examples, I may as well show you the whole track list. Pen Cap Hew and Blandest are the "rare" songs on the disc. If you haven't got those, I especially recommend this disc. This is the best version (that I have heard) of Pen Cap Chew. The artwork is great as well. I recommend this disc to everyone. It should be in every collection. I'll be sure to pick it up the next time I find it! You should, too. |
