Nirvana Bootography Review: **This disc is the same pressing as "Love Buzz" (identical matrix). For whatever reason, the disc has surfaced with a different two titles. Although this version is dated 1994, the bootography is certain that "Love Buzz (which is dated 1997) was the first release.
This disc is as good or better than any other 1990 era show. The first three tracks are the sound check and contain the best recording of "Verse Chorus Verse" that has surfaced. Tracks 4 through 14 are a typical show in bombastic stereo sound. Kurt introduces the band... "We're Nirvana and we don't particularly like heavy metal." Oddly, this disc lacks "Been a Son" from the show. With that exception, this is a perfect testament to the band at this period.
The filler tracks on this disc are an odd combination. Montage of Heck is senseless noise concocted by Kurt mixing various tapes. It's mis-labeled as "The Landlord" because of the lines in the song "The landlord is a piece of s@%$ from hell!" "Clean Up before She Comes" is an early four track recording by Kurt. "Big Long Now" can be found on the official release "Incesticide" and "Asking for It" is a Hole demo with Kurt on backing vocals. The "Asking For It" demo is quite nice and made it's first appearance on this disc.
