This is an interesting promo for a few reasons:

  • · Scott Litt is not mentioned in the credits, which would make sense if this cassette was made prior to his involvement.

    · The insert has a Geffen logo and Geffen prefix (GEF/C) which would generally make you think this was either Australian (the cassette was bought from a Geffen Australia employee) or European in origin, but 24607 is the American number for In Utero.  DGC usually handled American releases, so this may just be an inconsistency on DGC/Geffen's part.

    · "Pennyroyal Tea" is spelled differently, which would tend to indicate this item was not made in America.  (It's spelled the same way on a British promo CD.)

    · "Tourette's" is misspelled.

    · The real highlight of this item is that "I Hate Myself And Want To Die" is song #12 on the cassette AND it has an extended intro.  Krist can be heard fumbling around and saying, "Ow! Ow, ow, ow..." as he apparently bumps into something.

"Nirvana," "In Utero," and "Side A" are handwritten on the tape's label.  "Promotional Copy. Not For Sale" is printed on the insert.

(This item is similar to another promo.)
