Programme Title: The Word
Broadcast Date/s: 11/08/91,11/09/91, 04/22/92, 06/18/99
Length: 5 Minutes (Complete) 3 Minutes (Cut Versions)
Notes: Nirvana's infamous live world TV debut. Kurt opens by
declaring that: "I want everyone in this room to know that Courtney
Love, the lead singer of the sensational pop group Hole, is the best
fuck in the world". Originally the song was cut short by the programme
finishing before the song was complete (not uncommon with live
TV shows). The song was broadcast in complete form on 4/22/92 and
more recently on Channel 4's Best of the Word on 06/18/99. Complete
versions feature the end of the song, a destruction and Kurt shouting
"Roger Taylor, Roger Taylor" over and over. Footage from the songs finale
was also used on Channel 4's programme on the 100 Greatest Albums
shown in late 1998.

confusion of the presenter. Also available in incomplete form on the official
