(Let me stress that this info is based on memory and Jeff never actually had the tape.)
Back in the summer of '93 Jeff borrowed a few promo cassettes from his friend's sister, who worked at Geffen UK. One of the tapes was In Utero. He also asked about getting a Nevermind promo cassette, but was told those weren't allowed to be lent out after some had never been returned (stolen) back in '91. Here's what Jeff recalls:
-
"The Nevermind one which I never saw had 'The End of The Music' listed allegedly ('Endless, Nameless'). I *think* it also had 'Dive' and/or 'Sliver' on it, and also 'Sappy' -- but as I said, I didn't ever borrow it, I just asked what was on it aside the album tracks and the only thing I really remember being told was 'The End of The Music' which was long, noisy and ended with everything being smashed up..."
