Mr. Moustache was inspired by a
comic strip that Kurt drew as a teenager (
Journals
pg. 24, &
Come As You Are pg. xx).
The song (and comic strip of the same
name) is an attack on stereotypical redneck men that Kurt grew up around
in rural Washington.
"Moustache" is a variant spelling of the more commonly seen "mustache."
