News of this collaboration first broke in 2002, in an interview that Courtney Love gave to Rolling Stone's Chris Heath. Love described the duet to Heath as really cute and Breeder-y, before humming him the riff and singing some of the lyrics: I'm stinking of you… I don't care if my life is shattered, it's my point of view…. Love told the RS reporter that she and Cobain had written the song on the same night as Hole B-side 20 Years in Dakota. Love claimed that she had been responsible for the stinking of you part (described by her as that dumb little line), while Cobain had written the life is shattered verses (the more sophisticated, better part). Footage of the couple performing the song finally surfaced in 2011, with the release of rock documentary Hit So Hard: The Life And Near Death Story Of Patty Schemel. In the featured video clip, Love can be seen strumming an acoustic guitar and singing the song, while Cobain joins in from behind the camera with a rough vocal harmony. (2)
