During the summer of 1986, Kurt Cobain, Steve Shillinger and Shawn Murray formed this experimental noise band. (1)
The Melvins were away on their first national tour and, needless to say, we were bored!
Shillinger explains. So, after snorting lines of crushed purple microdot acid, we decided that we would try and bullshit our way into the band room at Crover's house and make noise.
Despite the psychedelics, the teenagers somehow managed to negotiate their way past Crover's father, Bob, He was a gentle soul and let us in without much fuss.

I played drums, Kurt played guitar and Shawn screamed obscenities,
Shillinger recalls. We taped them all over Crover's Jimi Hendrix tapes. We filled them full of this horrible, horrendous noise and I remember Crover got back from tour and he was really pissed at us!
