Having struck up a friendship months earlier—at Black Flag's infamous show at the Tropicana, Olympia, WA—Cobain, Crover and Hokanson decide to form their own punk outfit, Fecal Matter. Rehearsals were initially held in Hokanson's bedroom, dubbed Jail by Cobain. Performances were mainly instrumental, owing to a lack of P.A. Some recordings were made on Crover's boombox, but they are heavily distorted. (1)
