I was asked to take some radio winner shots with Sonic Youth and Nirvana by the local Geffen rep. I got this one off before anyone else stepped in. That’s actually Thurston on the far left. He had hit his head with his guitar during their last song and was bleeding, staunching it with a towel, and didn’t really want to be in the photos. A great snapshot in time.
