LNCU NEWS
Since I haven't put out an LNCU newsletter this month there are quite a few
interesting things to report on.
-- In November a person who used the name "Floyd The Barber" posted to the
LiveNIRVANA.com message boards claiming that he attained a copy of the
unsurfaced 01/16/93 PRIV video from a British mail order catalog. Although
he did stir up a great deal of interest at first, as time passed most people
became increasingly weary of his claims. He refused to post any evidence,
his email address, or the person from name or location of the company from
whom he obtained the video. After much research into the true identity of
"Floyd The Barber" I am positive that he was nothing more than a petty spammer
trying to get attention from the bootleg community. This was a hoax.
-- A first generation analog copy of NIRVANA's 11/11/91 performance in
Hamburg, Germany has surfaced recently. Although this show was previously
surfaced on the "Live In Belgium" Bootleg CD, the new version is uncut, and
better quality than the CD Release. Kris Sproul is currently in the process
of remastering this recording and putting it to CD. Once this is done it will
be treed here at LiveNIRVANA.com and be placed online in the form of an image
file for traders with high connection speeds to download for free.
-- Some of you may have heard the rumors that a person has the 10/31/91 PRIV
video and is willing to trade it for a rare video by the Clash. After doing
some research into this I am inclined to believe that this is also a hoax.
After talking to several people who claimed to have the video, and several
who have dealt with others claiming to have the video it is fairly obvious that
this whole thing is just one elaborate lie. Although it is very likely that
there is a PRIV video of this show in existence, it is highly unlikely that it
is actually in the hands of those that claim to possess it.

THE BLEW EP SESSION
Here is the first big hit for the LiveNIRVANA.com Collectors Union. I have
procured an analog copy of the Blew EP Sessions which took place in September
of 1989. The songs from this session are Been A Son, Stain, Even In His Youth,
Polly, and Token Eastern Song.
All of the songs from this session are surfaced on bootlegs or official releases
except for the Token Eastern Song which has been rumored to just be an
unfinished demo. Fortunately, the recording I acquired proves that this is not
the case. The Token Eastern Song was indeed a complete, finished, recording ...
as is the case with every other song from the session.
Still don't believe? See for your self:
http://www.livenirvana.com/garbage/TokenEast.mp3
The mp3 provided is only a 45 second (or so) clip of the actual song. The
actual tape of the session is much better quality and (of course) complete!
Although the generation of the recording is unknown it most likely went like
this:
MASTER Reel > Band Tape > This Tape ... making this recording 2nd generation.
This recording will be treed here at LiveNIRVANA.com, and uploaded online in
the form of an image file so that high speed traders can download it for free
and distribute it at will. All of this will happen once Kris Sproul has
finished his remaster of the session. You will all be notified by email when
this session becomes available.
Because I don't want to be overwhelmed with emails and questions ... all
questions will be ignored until the actual item becomes available. All that
I know about it I wrote here.
Be happy everyone ... We got something new!!!

04/24/90 SWARTHMORE COLLEGE OLDE CLUB - SWARTHMORE, PA
A LNCU member recently tracked down a complete audio recording of this show.
Apparently the college radio station in Swarthmore recorded the show and was
more than willing to make a copy for the LNCU free of charge. This is a
soundboard recording and we do know that it is the complete show. The show
contains a pretty average setlist for that era, with no real rarities ... but
at least it is a new show.
Here is the setlist:
School / Floyd The Barber / Love Buzz / Dive / About A Girl / Scoff / In
Bloom / Big Cheese / Breed / Molly's Lips / Stain / Been A Son / Negative
Creep / Blew
The radio station is currently in the process of sending the analog recording
... so in the mean time, I guess we just wait. You will all be kept up to date
on what is going on with this ... and you will be the first to get it.

UPCOMING PROJECTS FOR THE LNCU
I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about what we need to do to get more
shows. The fact is ... we cant just sit around and wait for them to come to us.
I recently had the idea of putting ads in some Seattle newspapers asking for some
unsurfaced material. I am not going to lie here ... this will be a very costly
venture, but the payback could possibly be enormous.
I would like everyone in the Seattle, WA area to email me if they are interested
in helping. Also ... if anybody has a list of the best newspapers in the Seattle
area please email me as well at lncu@livenirvana.com
I will keep you all updated on the progress of this project.
