Videos from this year tend to be mostly the same. Shot from somewhere back in the audience, the view never gets closer than Kurt head to toe, or a shot of two or more members of the band. By this time, Kurt had become the focal member of Nirvana. The other band members tend to be ignored for the majority of the concert, with only occasional shots in the videos.

Notes: Really Wierd Show. Kurt is dressed in Pajamas until a 10 minute version of SA is done, then comes out in a dress. Some versions of this show that are circulating are really bad quality 2/3.

Quality:This video is typical of many of the 1993 videos. The taper is located fairly far away, and can not get any close shots of the band. This is shot from the left side seats. The focus goes out periodically, and has to be readjusted. The camera work is pretty good, but because of the distance, doesn't require much thought. The sound is good, with the vocals and guitar prominant. Once in a while we can see someones head or some hands clapping, but for the most part the view is unobstructed. The taper does a great job of capturing Kurts dive into the drums at the end of the show. It should be fairly easy to find a low generation copy of this. The band did not play Drain You, which is notable as they did play it at most of the 1993 shows.
Notes:This show was a benefit for Bosnian Rape Victims. The band seems pretty into playing. Kurt is actually moving about, and swinging his guitar around. Maybe because they hadn't played in so long? The stage is huge, but Kurt keeps heading over to the Krist and Dave, trying to have some sort of interaction with them. The crowd is given a preview of In Utereo which won't be out for months, as the band plays many new songs. Dave talks to the crowd a bit. All Kurt does is thank the people who organzied the benefit. There are different solos in Smells Like Teen Spirit, Serve the Servants, and Heart Shaped Box. The band seems unsure as to how to start Milk It, and the solo and middle part are different. During the Love Buzz solo, Kurt starts walking around, and plays with a water bottle hanging from his mouth. He kneels down and sets the bottle on the stage. Then at the end of the solo, he kicks the bottle, sendng the bottle flying, with water splashing on the stage and crowd.
Of particular note is the finale of the show. As the band plays Endless Nameless Kurt finds some tape on the drum riser, pulls out a large piece, and wraps it around Krist. As the song continues, Kurt starts to climb up on the p.a. stacks. When he gets to the top of the stacks, he resumes playing guitar. Shortly after this he dives off the top of the stacks! He really gets some height on this and must be soaring about five feet above the drums. He crashes into the drums, and disappears from view. The drums collapse in upon him. Krist wanders over, looks, and then heads off stage as Kurt climbs out of the wreckage. Dave doesn't appear, but was probably knocked off the drum riser when Kurt hit the drums. The crowd cheers as Kurt walks offstage unharmed.

Notes: Pretty cool. Some technician guy stands infront of the camera and talks to people offstage for like 23 of the 40 min and that gets annoying.

Quality:This is a single camera shot from the floor in front of the stage. The first three songs are shot from the left side. The last two are shot from the right side. The sound is okay, and you can hear the crowd screaming.
Notes:MTV has a special Nirvana feature, which has video footage from the Phoenix show. MTV had previously shown clips from this show on MTV news when they were covering the beginning of Nirvana's 1993 tour. Quality:The video is shot from the front. The taper is at the back of the venue, and is either in a balcony or up high in the seats. The closet shot we get is of several members of the band at once. Also, the taper often frames the shot so we can see the light show behind the band. In general, the focus is good, but the lights sometimes wash out the features. There aren't any obstructions unless Kurt goes to the far left.
Notes: Not one of the better shows or videos. Kurt is quiet and doesn't say anything. Krist is his normal self, and does a bit of talking.

Quality: This video is the closest video I've seen from the 1993 concert tour. The bad news is the first ten minutes are obstructed. The taper is shooting from the left side seats. It takes awhile to find a spot where he doesn't have people standing up in front of him. So for the first ten minutes we have shots of the ceiling and the crowd. After that, things get better. We can see the whole band on the far shots, and have a close view, which is better than most other 1993 videos. The sound is echoey, but okay. Sometimes Kurt is obstructed by the p.a. system. Dave is entirely hidden by the drums. There is supposedly a complete version of this show, with RFUS and all of Drain you, which has started showing up in trading circles.
Notes: Kurt is fairly stationary for most of the show, but does seem to be into playing on a few songs. During the solo in School, he thrashes around and falls to his knees. While playing the In Bloom solo, Kurt takes his guitar off, puts it on the stage, and plays the solo with his foot - basically he just hits the strings with his shoe- while Krist drops to his knees before Kurt. When the band comes out for the encore, there is a short bass and drum jam, and it appears that Kurt is playing the drums. I know I've seen a ' picture of Kurt behind the drums in Toronto in 1993. I just assumed it was at the soundcheck. At the end of the show, everyone leaves the stage except for Kurt, whose guitar is feeding back. He keeps the feedback going, eventually putting his guitar on the floor, and kneeling down to fool with his effects pedals. When he tires of this, he throws the guitar into the drums. He then picks up the guitar, walks over to his Marshall mini-stack, and rams the guitar into it. The anatomical model is this next target. As he smashes the model with the guitar, the strap gets caught on it. Kurt then has a short tug of war, which ends when the model comes crashing to the stage. The crowd cheers as Kurt leaves the stage.

Quality:This video was shot from the back of the venue, from the front. Considering that the taper is located here, he doesn't do that bad a job. His position actually allows us to see Dave a couple of times. While the distance of the taper prevents any close ups, there are some fairly decent views of Kurt. The picture is pretty steady, and there aren't any obstructions.
Notes:Kurt appears to be having equipment trouble several times during the show. He throws his guitar to the ground after the first song, and walks off stage. Kurt does not seem to be having a good time.

Quality:This video was shot from the right hand side in the balcony, or seats. The camera work is shaky, and there are heads obstructing parts of the picture sometimes. Also the camera is not always aimed correctly. There are some special effects, such as slow motion, in some parts of the video. This is not as close as the other video. Once again, we do get a shot or two where we can see Dave.
