The exact number is unknown, and it's hard to even guess until we figure out if this is a test pressing or a white label promo.

The record is pressed on black vinyl and has white labels.  Some labels have handwritting, others do not.  Because of this, it's unclear if the writing is original or was added by owners.

The type of original sleeve is unknown, but of the two copies that have been reported, one came in a black, die-cut, picture sleeve and the other only had a white, die-cut, paper sleeve (the type of inner sleeve sometimes used as extra protection inside of a normal cardboard sleeve).  As is the case with the vinyl labels, any handwriting on the sleeve or inner sleeve has an unknown origin.

This item looks like a test pressing, and very well may be, but an info sheet was included (at least with some copies).  The presence of this sheet of paper makes it more likely that the record was a white label promo.  But if that was the case then more of these records should be around.  Only three copies are known of so far.

(I was once told by an ex-Sub Pop employee that Tupelo didn't make promos for the Blew EP.  Whether that was the case with other items, I don't know.  But if it were, then that would mean this record was probably a test pressing used as a promo rather than a promo-only release.)

"Utopia" on Side A is etched vertically (it starts in the center and each letter is in a different groove).
