Sliver
n o t e s
When Sub Pop released Sliver, they did so with a wide range of colored vinyl and different sleeves.  There are three commonly accepted versions.

1. 1st Pressing
The first 3000 copies of the single were pressed on pink or marbled blue vinyl and released in a folded sleeve that had a Singles Club card attached.  Black vinyl was also released in this type of sleeve.  Records have yellow labels.

2. 2nd Pressing
Most Sub Pop vinyl is pressed by Erika, but not all copies indicate this (which is also the case with certain Bleach LPs).  This version of the Sliver single is clearly from Erika's plant because the company is either mentioned on the sleeve or the record's yellow labels, or both.  Available vinyl colors are:

  • · Black
    · Blue (translucent with marbled effect)
    · Peach
    · Pink (translucent)
    · Rose
    · Translucent
    · Turquoise
    · Yellow (translucent)

Besides the Erika credits, this pressing is different from the original because the record comes in a regular picture sleeve.

3. Re-issue
The record is pressed on black vinyl with black labels and comes in a picture sleeve.

(In the mid to late '90s Sub Pop may have sold some copies in the original folded sleeve.  This happened because they found extras in storage and decided to put them to use.  This is no longer being done because all of the folded sleeves have been used, assuming they don't find more packed in a box somewhere.)
