Pressed on black vinyl (33 1/3 rpm).  The sleeve states it was printed in Canada, and notes the recordings are from "Live in The Midwest in October '91" (1991.10.11 at St. Andrew's Hall, in Detroit, Michigan).  Photocopy quality is probably the best way to describe the sleeve, which lists 'side a' and 'side b' even though the pink vinyl labels are numbered.  Besides the large "1" and "2" on each side, "NERVE 01A" or "NERVE 01B" and "33 1/3" are printed on the labels.

  • "This live recording is not very good.  All the instruments kind of meld together with Kurt's voice heard above it.  It sounds like it was recorded with a cheap recorder.  It's still interesting though."

by Ronny:

  • "The sound quality is really LoFi.  It sounds as though somebody in the audience had recorded it with a walkman stuffed in his pocket.  Also, there is a short skip of about 1/2 second in the middle of 'About A Girl' which is not due to any vinyl damage.  The pretty bad sound quality however, adds to the fury and rage in Kurt's voice.  Sounds like he had a good time at this show...

"I think the live cut of 'Penny Royal Tea' you're refering to is the one to be found on Outcesticide 2 for example.  No, it's not that one on the 7".  This songs starts also with 'I'm on percodans and demerol...' but when Kurt sings the first verse again later, he sings: 'I'm on demerol and laxatives...'

"Also, Kurt's voice is WAY more energetic than on the version of Outcesticide 2.  Actually I have never heard him singing 'Penny Royal Tea' that intense anywhere else.  He also yells ecstatically for about 3 seconds at the end of the song!"
