The most common counterfeit has GED 21907 and 87 + signs around the matrix.  Most speculation points towards Europe (specifically Sweden) as the source of these discs.  While they are decent reproductions of the original single, there are several errors:

  1. Artwork on the insert isn't quite as sharp.  This isn't always obvious, though, because some copies do look pretty good.

  2. The spine of the insert has incorrect fonts and the shade of yellow used on "Nirvana" is too light.

  3. Text on the CD is printed with the wrong color (black) instead or purple.

  4. Credits around the rim of the disc have a typo (hirinng).

  5. The 'metal' doesn't reach the edge of the center hole, leaving a transparent zone.
