  • Against MTV's wishes, Kurt started to play "Rape Me," but stopped and went right into "Lithium."
  • Just before the end of "Lithium", Krist's bass cut out, so he tossed it up in the air and attempted to catch it. He missed, and the bass hit him in the head. He fell to the ground, then stumbled offstage, just as the song was ending.
  • The performance ended with the band destroying the stage and Dave yelling into the microphone, "Where's Axl? Hi Axl! Hi Axl!" Dave was referring to Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses, with whom the band had had a confrontation earlier in the day.
